Humanism is a philosophy that emphasizes the individual and social potential, an agency of human beings, considered the starting point for serious moral and philosophical inquiry. In other words, Humanism means to care for each other and take care of fellow human beings, which should also include animals near and dear to us.
Based on that definition, we can basically divide people into 3 very different categories:
- People who understand the simplicity of Humanism without involving religion.
- People who need religion to understand the simplicity of Humanism.
- People who for misunderstood selfish reasons use religion to conceal their disdain and contempt for Humanism.
A humanistic goal for mankind should be to move towards group 1. That’s what the more advanced, progressive countries have done, while the less humanisticly inclined remain in group 2 or 3, usually hampered by the old human invention, – religion!
