During the campaign, Donald Trump kept insisting that the system was rigged.
Looks like he was right! Perhaps he knew something hidden from the rest of us?
To third party ignoramus Gary Johnson, who received more votes than the difference
between Trump and Clinton in certain crucial states, I would say: “Happy now?”
The system is rigged according to how the Founding Fathers intended. The Electoral System deliberately gives more weight to the voters in low population states. The more populous your state, the less your vote is worth regarding election of the President. It was set up to protect the interests of the smaller states.
Hillary’s popular vote margin is due to nothing more than California’s population. Same happened with Al Gore. If his (small) home state of TN had voted for him, he’d have been president.
In a related topic, I saw remarks by Harry Reid and Elizabeth Warren on today’s news.
They were disparaging Trump, saying disgusting things as foul or more-so than anything said by Trump about American politicians. What a nice way to welcome the President-Elect.
Quite an irony that Trump owes his success to people like those two…any voter who is not a flaming progressive finds them utterly out of touch with reality and a danger to the nation.
Another irony is the actions of the idiots in the streets violently demonstrating to protest the election results. They are demonstrating one of the phenomena that got Trump elected…mindless, lawless and violent rebellion which does nothing other than upset the stable elements of society…such as Trump voters.
On the other hand it was gratifying to hear HRC’s gracious concession speech and also Obama’s remarks wishing Trump well for his coming presidency.
It is going to be very interesting to see what happens when Trump ascends to the throne being vacated by Obama. To quote Obama,”Elections have consequences.”.
