Al: Of course, the southern border is a problem, and not a new one. Trump talked about it for 4 years, and still does, without doing anything worthwhile. The Senate has agreed on a bipartisan solution, if not perfect, at least some solution. But what happened? They were ready to adopt it, when Trump told his Republican cult to forget it! WHY? Because he wanted it as something he could continue to complain about, now that he could hardly complain about the economy anymore, after President Biden has done so well, that even Trump had to shut up.

I forget the Border Patrol’s latest numbers, but I do know BP has reported, since Biden took office, that about 6 million of questionable identity have crossed and been admitted, on parole, to the interior, without a health check, being fingerprinted, or photographed. BP has been reduced to nothing better than Biden’s welcoming committee
BP reported about 2 million gotaways, people who crossed by evading BP.
Hmm? Why would they avoid BP, and not be given parole to enter?
Parole gives legal entry with only one easily severed string attached.

Of course the Republicans are being unreasonable to limit entry on parole to a mere 140,000 unvetted people per month, as the Senate specified.
We can all be confident that it’s silly to imagine that Iran’s Republican Guard, or China’s CCP are smart enough to exploit the open border, to send in terrorists, and/or saboteurs, etc., to set up sleeper cells.
Or imagine that the Mexican cartels would populate the US with enforcers to make sure that those who promised payment for being allowed to cross, use their US earnings to pay their debts.

Al: So what was wrong with Trump’s opposition in 2016 and 2020?
Today, for example, President Biden has done such a good job, that the Republicans have only the border crises to complain about! That’s why they had to sabotage the solution that the Senate had worked out and agreed on! Why? Because Trump told them to! What a ding-a-ling cult! And you support such useless idiots?

For 2024, I sincerely hope it isn’t Trump.
But if it’s Trump vs Biden, I sure hope it isn’t Biden who wins.
