Why should a US President, even a minority selected one, be able to pardon himself, – for whatever he has done? That means he could commit rape, murder, selling out the country, revealing governmental secrets, and even stealing secret documents, – for whatever purpose he may have had in mind? The ramifications are enormous, as well as mind boggling, and scary!
Isn’t it bad enough that even a minority selected President can pardon all kinds of criminals who committed crimes on his own behalf, – like Trump did, indiscriminately? That seems contrary to the original reason for presidential pardon power, and a gross misuse of that particular Constitutional privilege.
