Until Mueller’s investigation is complete, just a note re. your silly “crackpot” characterization of Rachel Maddow on MSNBC. She not only has the top ranked program in that category, but she is considered one of the very best in the business! She has a PhD in political science from Stanford and is clearly one to watch if you really want to know what is going on. Obviously, many shy away from her insightful commentary if they are too committed to Trumpy and the Republican agenda and have a hard time with the truth she exposes. I find her program very helpful for my understanding of the current political climate in the US.

I appreciate your statistical breakdown regarding who voted for whom.
Very interesting that the % of Democrats is more than the % of Republicans who chose to vote Trump.

Please forgive Jorg his beliefs.
This tirade about the Russians and gullible voters is typical of some of of the stuff found on his blog…progressive wishful thinking, and distortions and nonsense heavily influenced by crackpot commentators like Rachel Maddow.
I’m not sure of this, but if you go back over Jorg’s blog, I think you’ll find that he would like to see the Electoral College done away with. This would satisfy the progressive’s dream of having the blue state voters run roughshod over the rest of the country.

Jorg, you are probably <1% correct regarding what got Trump elected as POTUS.
The rest was Trump's own doing.
Call it trickery if you like, but his showmanship skills and media savvy blew away the Republican Establishment and capitalized on Hillary's lack of appeal.
Trump proved that the vote for POTUS is a popularity contest having little to do with wonky policy positions other than the importance of protecting the Supreme Court from a liberal majority.
His success came from an electorate fed up with Washington, and by exploiting the Democrat notion that government knows better than the people.

Regarding Trump in office, I'll quote Hoover Institute Fellow, Victor Davis Hanson speaking at Hillsdale College on 9-29-17.
"Trump is supposedly uniquely bad or uniquely vulgar or uniquely uncouth as far as the media comes. Because he's chemotherapy, and he's looking at the cancer, which is this culture. It's getting into a toxic phase. And people voted for chemotherapy. And chemotherapy is not pleasant, but it does the job. And that's what his supporters see. They'll stick with him.".

Jorg and I are buddies going back about 40 years. We have a great time agreeing to disagree on politics.
He comments on comments, but I've never seen him censor…he loves free speech.

However, your blog post does beg the question, “Who is controlling America?” You and I will not come to a mutually satisfactory answer to this question, but remember this… Donald Trump did not usher in spying on Americans, a one-party media, targeting opposition groups, the deportation of millions of immigrants, creation of cradle-to-grave entitlements or the assault on our First Amendment.

Who elected Donald Trump? It wasn’t uneducated voters or evangelicals. Hillary was supposed to have a solid lead with college-educated white voters, but she tallied only 39% of the men and 51% of the women in that demographic. That group also had incomes higher than the national median. They are not the uneducated, low info voters described by you in your blog.

Trump cleaned up in rural America… no surprise… but that’s only about 17% of the electorate. So, who voted for Trump? America’s voters break down like this: 32% Democrats… 23% Republicans… 40% independents (and that number is growing). If you’re trying to figure out who voted for Trump… don’t look at the Rust Belt or the Bible Belt. Look to the suburbs. Look at independent voters. If Hillary would have connected with them, she would be president. Oddly enough, Bill Clinton suggested a campaign strategy that called for getting outside large cities and listening to voters in the suburbs, but Hillary chose another strategy.

I’d love to hear your thoughts re: what I’ve written, but I’m sure my response will be censored.

Ray Fowler
